NOTICES FROM THE SOUTH LEEWARD CONFERENCE HEADQUARTERS

SABBATH MARCH 14, 2020

Office of the President

March 11, 2020

Seventh-day Adventist Churches

South Leeward Conference

Greetings in the blessed hope of our soon coming King!

The administration has been following the recent developments of the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and believes that the time is right for God’s people to take the matter to God in prayer.  There is a general sense of fear among the major countries of the world as experts are predicting that as much as 40 to 60 percent of the world’s population will become infected.

As promised, the Health Department will be providing regular updates through various media inclusive of Second Advent Radio.   The department will also be issuing operational protocol to guide our various institutions.  We especially ask that you follow the guidelines as we go into a series of evangelistic activities.  Our evangelistic efforts will go forward unless advised otherwise by the officials. Note also that the General Conference Session is still on unless otherwise informed. While expert opinion advise that we take caution and implement safety procedures—and we strongly encourage all to comply—we believe that God is able.

In light of the current situation with the fast spreading coronavirus, the administration has agreed that Sabbaths March 21 and 28 be designated as days of prayer.  Incidentally, these two Sabbaths are the beginning and ending of the Youth Week of Prayer.  We are asking that every congregation engage in serious intercession to God on behalf of plight of humanity and the danger that this virus can cause.  We ask that, in addition to the pre-arranged prayer focus for the various nights, emphasis be given to asking God to stop the spread of this deadly virus.

Thanks for your attention to the above and let’s continue to lay hold to the promises of God for His protection and guidance.

Yours in the Blessed Hope,

Carson L. Greene, DMin

President

“Why be a Volunteer?”

It’s not for money, it’s not for fame and it’s not for any personal gain.

It’s just for love of fellow man.

It’s just to lend a helping hand.

It’s just to give a tithe of self.

That’s something you can’t buy with wealth.

It’s not the medals worn with pride.

It’s just for that feeling deep inside.

It’s that reward down in your heart.

It’s feeling that you’ve been a part of helping others far and near.

That’s what makes you a VOLUNTEER.

Call us at Tabitha to be a part of our activity volunteer service 461-3842.
